Mid-West Forge Corporation

Our History

Mid-West Forge was founded in the 1920's.  During World War II and the Korean War Mid-West produced shell casings, machine gun barrels, and rifle barrels.  Since that time Mid-West has produced in excess of 200,000,000 axle shafts.

In the 1960's Mid-West entered into a joint venture with General Motors to develop the hot upset, cold extruded semi-float axle process which has become the world standard for rear drive vehicles.

Today we specialize in high volume hot forged and cold extruded shafts.  These high quality shafts are produced at our 150,000 square foot manufacturing facility that employs approximately 200 people.  Our facility includes a complete engineering department, maintenance and rebuild department, and tool room.  We feature CAD/CAM, DNC machine tool control, Bar Code, EDI capabilities, and other computer capabilities.

Our Mission

Continuously improve and evolve into the finest forging company in the world by constantly meeting or exceeding the requirements of our customers, employees, and shareholders.
