Electric Induction Heating

All of the shafts forged at Mid-West are heated using electric induction heating.  This heating method provides the best temperature control, short cycle times, and most consistency from piece to piece.  Tight control of the heating process helps to maintain grain size integrity.

 

 

Automatic Inspection & Gaging

Both the forged and extruded shafts are processed through automatic inspection machines where they are checked for length, straightness, and dimensional accuracy.

     Ultrasonic Inspection

All of our extruded products are ultrasonically inspected for internal defects that may develop during the manufacturing process.
