Mid-West
Forge has 10 upsetting forging machines ranging in size from 6 to 10 inches. We also
utilize 5 automated cold extrusion presses for the production process. Our forging
machines are equipped with tonnage monitors, piece temperature monitors, and are
integrated using PLC's.

Tool Room
Mid-West Forge includes a complete tool and
die manufacturing facility. Our machines include CNC Lathes, a CNC Machining Center,
a horizontal boring mill, and a wide range of manual machine tools. Our tool and die
manufacturing facility produces our forge tooling, gages, and has the capacity to handle
most plant wide repairs.
Robots
Robots are used to load and unload production equipment. The robots are
used to reduce operating costs and address ergonomic requirements for the future.
Mid-West is highly automated using miles of continuous automatic conveyors, walking beam
conveyors, automatic loaders, automated guided vehicles, and robots to handle the several
million axle shaft forgings produced each year.
Finite Element Modeling
Mid-West also incorporates computer-aided simulation of both the forging and
extrusion processes. This simulation allows us to perfect new or enhanced tooling
designs before the first piece is made on the production floor.
Computer Aided Drafting / Design
At Mid-West we utilize both 2D and 3D CAD systems for all of our engineering
functions. We also employ computer programs that allow us to design both forge and
extrusion tooling to meet our customers product requirements.
Water Treatment Plant
At Mid-West we focus in many areas that allow us to become an environmentally
friendly company. One example of this is our water treatment facility.
